About this site and how we check facts

Greenland Trip Planner (working name) is an independent, English-language planning guide for people who travel to Greenland on their own: flights, airports, getting into town, costs and the practical rules. It is not owned by or affiliated with Visit Greenland, Greenland Airports, the Government of Greenland, any airline, shipping line or tour operator.

Who runs this site

The site is run by Stefán Atli Rúnarsson, an Icelander. You can reach him through the contact page.

How we check facts

• Every number is cited. Fares, timetables, dates, distances and phone numbers link to the page we took them from, in the numbered source list at the bottom of each page. Our build refuses to publish a page where a number has no source.
• Official and primary sources first: Visit Greenland, Greenland Airports (Mittarfeqarfiit), Greenland Police, and the transport companies' own pages (Air Greenland, Icelandair, United, Arctic Umiaq Line, Disko Line, Nuup Bussii, taxi companies). News reports are used only when no official page exists, and are labelled as news.
• Dated. Each page shows when it was last verified, and each source shows when we accessed it. The full list is on the sources page.
• Prices are snapshots. Airline "from" fares change daily. We quote them with the date we saw them and say where they came from.
• Our own arithmetic is labelled as an estimate, with the inputs shown.
• When sources disagree or look outdated, we say so and point you to the operator.
• We do not invent anything: no made-up reviews, personal stories, quotes, prices or "insider tips".

AI assistance

Research and drafting are done with the help of an AI assistant, and every claim is checked against the cited page. See the AI disclosure.

Advertising

We plan to fund the site with clearly marked affiliate links. Today no affiliate program is active: the boxes labelled "Ad" are placeholders that earn nothing. See the affiliate disclosure. Advertising never changes the facts or the safety information on a page.

Photos

The site has no photos yet. When we add them, we will use only freely licensed images and credit each one.
