What a Greenland trip costs: the prices we could verify

Ad This page contains advertising boxes labelled "Ad". Their partner links are not active yet (placeholders), so we earn nothing from them. Affiliate disclosure

The prices we could verify are mostly for transport: flights to Greenland, flights and boats between towns, and buses and taxis in Nuuk. Below are the prices we could check on official and operator pages, each dated. We have not yet found sourced figures for hotels, food or tours, so we do not guess them.

Currency and payment

Greenland uses the Danish krone (DKK). Visit Greenland says it is pegged to the euro at 7.46 kroner per euro, within ±2.25%. [1] We use that rate for the euro conversions on this page. They are our own arithmetic and are rounded.

Cards are accepted in most places. ATMs take Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard, Diners and Dankort with a PIN, and Visit Greenland lists ATMs in 15 towns, including Nuuk, Ilulissat, Sisimiut, Kangerlussuaq, Qaqortoq and Tasiilaq. Some souvenir shops accept foreign banknotes. [1]

The two figures on one page do not match, so treat both as snapshots. [2] Air Greenland's Nuuk page says a July return Copenhagen–Nuuk is "typically between 4,000 and 7,000 DKK" (≈ €536–938). [3]
